Dr Paul M. DeLuca, University of Wisconsin - Madison School of Medicine and Public Health, has been named as the University's Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. He is a member of Council and the NCRP Board of Directors, and serves as Chairman of the International Commission on Radiation Units and Measurements

Senate committee takes on inappropriate imaging: A recently released Senate Finance Committee report calls for the Secretary of Health and Human Services to establish a Diagnostic Imaging Exchange Network (DIEN) in five regions of the country, beginning in 2011. DIEN would assist physicians in determining the necessity, safety and appropriateness of ordering an imaging study, with the intent of minimizing duplicative scans and radiation exposure to patients. >

American Society of Radiologic Technologists, American Registry of Radiologic Technologists panel conclude that more education is necessary for CT utilization: “Ultimately, when medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals thoroughly understand CT operation, techniques and protocols, they can optimize dose and perform safer examinations”  >
